Honda recorded domestic dispatches of 57.5 lakh units in FY2025–26. The latest target of 60 lakh units would represent growth of approximately 4.3 per cent over that figure.
During the first half of FY2026–27, Honda’s domestic two-wheeler dispatches increased 13.5 per cent year-on-year to 30.4 lakh units. The overall domestic two-wheeler industry grew 17.6 per cent during the same period to 1.209 crore units, according to figures cited in the report.

Honda is also preparing to expand its annual production capacity from the current 65 lakh units to 80 lakh units by 2028. Two new production lines are planned at its existing facilities in Tapukara and Vithalapur, Rajasthan. The additional capacity is intended to support both internal-combustion-engine and electric vehicle models.
The company is pursuing a multi-powertrain strategy that includes petrol, flex-fuel and electric vehicles. Its management has said the choice of technology will depend partly on customer requirements, infrastructure availability and the development of alternative fuels.
Honda entered India’s electric two-wheeler market in 2025, but the company says the long-term growth of the segment will also depend on charging infrastructure and how consumers assess the resale value of electric vehicles.
