AI in Education: Can Students Use Artificial Intelligence for Assignments?

Artificial intelligence is becoming a popular study tool among students. From preparing notes and understanding difficult topics to improving written assignments, AI tools offer several ways to support learning. However, students need to understand how to use them responsibly.

What Are the Risks of Using AI?

AI-generated answers may contain incorrect facts, outdated information or misleading references. Students who copy answers without understanding them may also struggle to explain the subject during examinations. Submitting AI-generated work as original work may violate a college's academic integrity rules.

What Should Students Do?

Students should check their institution's AI policy before using these tools for assignments or research projects. Important facts should be verified through reliable sources, and AI assistance should be disclosed whenever required. The aim should be to use AI as a learning aid while developing independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
