AP Municipal Exit Poll 2026: Who Is Heading for Victory?
Political excitement is building across Andhra Pradesh following the completion of municipal elections on November 1. With parties waiting for the official results, exit poll projections have become a major talking point. According to the figures provided for Janatha Mirror's exit poll, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is projected to win 47 of the 70 municipalities, while Jana Sena may secure 14 and the BJP two. The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is projected to win seven municipalities. These projections suggest a significant advantage for the ruling alliance in urban local bodies. However, exit polls are only estimates, and the final outcome will depend on the official counting of votes.

The C-PAC exit poll separately predicts a strong performance for the ruling alliance in all 13 municipal corporations. According to its reported projections, TDP could win 10 corporations, Jana Sena two and the BJP one. The projected TDP wins include Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, Guntur, Ongole, Nellore, Kadapa, Kurnool, Tirupati and Chittoor. Jana Sena is projected to secure Vijayawada and Eluru, while Anantapur could go to the BJP. If these estimates translate into actual results, the ruling alliance would have a strong presence across Andhra Pradesh's major urban centres.
YSRCP's Performance Under Close Watch
The projected numbers have also brought attention to the YSRCP's performance in the municipal elections. According to the figures supplied for the 70 municipalities, the party could secure seven seats. The result will be important in understanding the opposition party's urban support base and its performance against the ruling coalition. Local issues, candidate popularity, civic infrastructure, drinking water, sanitation and development promises are among the factors that can influence municipal voting patterns.
Counting Day to Reveal the Real Picture
The exit poll numbers have increased political anticipation, but they should not be treated as official election results. Vote counting is scheduled for November 3, and the results will establish which parties actually secured control of the municipalities and corporations. The difference between survey predictions and the final outcome will also be closely watched. Until the State Election Commission announces the results, the projections remain indicative rather than conclusive.
