Retail partners to participate in the scheme

The cashback programme is being communicated to retail partners, who are required to participate in the scheme. The report states that participating retailers will contribute ₹1,000 for each unit sold under the offer.

The enhanced benefit is aimed at encouraging smartphone upgrades during the extended festive shopping period.

What buyers should check before purchasing

Customers should confirm the participating bank, eligible card type, EMI conditions, transaction limits and cashback credit timeline with the retailer before placing an order.

The cashback amount should also be compared with the final purchase price across authorised sellers. A higher cashback does not necessarily mean the lowest overall price if the base price or financing cost differs.

Market Perspective

The higher cashback offer comes at a time when retailers have reported weaker festive smartphone demand. More aggressive incentives could encourage customers to upgrade, particularly those who have delayed purchases because of premium smartphone prices.

For buyers, the best deal will depend on the final effective price after cashback, applicable taxes, EMI interest and other charges. Customers should review the complete transaction cost rather than focusing only on the advertised cashback figure.
